Sew a Rag Quilt with Rebekah Johnson
Create a cozy rag quilt as you learn this simple and satisfying process!
Description: Over the course of two days, participants will choose fabrics then stitch upa 48 x 56-inch quilt. Squares of fabric are seamed together before cutting snips into the unfinished seam allowances. After washing and drying, these cuts fray and fluff to create an appealing “rag” border for each quilt block. This is a 6-hour long workshop presented in two sessions: Saturday, July 18, 3-6 and Sunday, July 19, 11-2.
Difficulty Level: Intermediate-some sewing experience required.
Youth Participants: 18+
Additional Information: Please visit Old Town Fabric prior to the day of your workshop to pick out the fabric for your quilt, fabric is included in the workshop fee. If you have a sewing machine, rotary cutter, mat and fabric scissors, please bring them. If you do not have these tools they will be provided.
Notes: Participants will take home a 48 x 56-inch quilt and a pair of Fiskars rag quilt snips.
