Appalachian Flatfooting Frolic

Y’all, I am SO excited to invite you to the Appalachian Flatfooting Frolic in beautiful Berea, Kentucky—the folk arts and crafts capital of our state!

This is much more than dance! It’s a full-on celebration of Appalachian culture, complete with world-class instruction, live mountain music, delicious food, storytelling, and the kind of warm community that’ll make you feel like you’ve come home.

 HERE’S WHAT’S IN STORE:

 Dance instruction for all levels – We’re splitting into beginner and continuing tracks so everyone gets exactly what they need. You’ll learn from me AND special guest instructor Rebecca Stout, who brings deep Southern dance traditions to share.

 Live music and authentic square dancing – Legendary caller Randy Wilson will lead us in East Kentucky-style square dancing, and you’ll get to practice your new skills with live musicians!

 Storytelling and concert – Award-winning performer Mitch Barrett (a Berea native!) will enchant us with his songs and tales on Friday evening.

 Amazing meals included – From Friday’s opening supper to Saturday’s feast, plus Yani’s famous Greek Baklava at the evening square dance and parlor!

 Time to explore Berea – Wander through craft shops, visit pottery studios, grab coffee at cozy cafés, and soak up the charm of this special mountain town.
