Colors and textures surround me as I work in my Lexington art studio. There I create acrylic paintings, printmaking, and mix-media pieces. My acrylic paintings are adjudicated into the Kentucky Crafted Program. A UK Art Studio grad, I worked in the graphic arts in the sign industry, returned to acrylic painting, and later found monotype printmaking.

I love the immediacy of monotype printmaking and the surprise that reveals itself after the image is transferred to paper. I don’t dispose of the prints that seem unfinished. I adhere to collected and found elements to the print for balance, movement, or color to complete the artwork. I look at castaway items in a new light. My printmaking-based mixed media pieces reflect my desire to achieve balance, keep moving, and connect.
