Dinah Tyree
Dinah Tyree began her painting career using oil paints, but for the past ten years she has specialized in watercolors.
Tyree likes to “suggest” the essence of her subjects in a loose, translucent style, emphasizing the interplay of watercolor paints on paper. She finds inspiration for her land and seascape paintings in the Kentucky countryside and at Florida beaches, where she spends part of each winter.
She also creates series of paintings reflecting Kentucky history and heritage, including a series of horses, scenes from the Civil War, and historic buildings.
