Wabi-Sabi Abstracts: Yin and Yang - July 19th from 9:30 AM - 5:00 PM - Price: $150
Workshop Instructor: Diana Marra

Paint with the Pantone 2019 Color-of-the-Year ‘Living Coral’ and create 2 abstract paintings in this workshop. We will use 3 points of reference: ‘Realism’ (your photo or mine); then our first 20” x 10” wrapped canvas painting representing ‘Abstracted Realism’ (in the style of pioneer Arthur Dove, who brought Abstraction to the United States after studying in southern France); and then our second same size painting and color balance representing ‘Pure Abstraction.’ We will create our own Visual Library of “marks” made by brushes and assorted provided ‘tools’ and review Design Elements and Composition. Alternate color combinations will be provided, so we will explore our desired Color Palette. Several “Masters’ Works” from Asia, Europe and the US will be discussed and provided in case you would like to officially ‘Study-the-Masters’ or go in your own direction and create your own original paintings. Your own created “library of marks,” two 4” “practice tiles” to explore your design, plus instructions and 3 new brushes are yours to keep to continue your learning.
