Donna will explain how to grow and dry gourds for making crafts. She will also provide information on where to purchase gourds and gourd-crafting supplies. She will explain the dangers of inhaling gourd dust and show participants how to cut a gourd at home safely. Using gourds and other materials, participants will make and paint a gourd scarecrow.

• Location: Berea Senior Citizens Center/Intergenerational Center (Activity Room) - 214 West Jefferson Street

• Age: 14 & Up (Youth 14 - 18 MUST bring a Youth Authorization Form, completed and signed by a parent or legal guardian, found at this Attendees Resources link.)

• Class Size: 10 Max

• Take Home: One scarecrow gourd.

• Notes: Please wear clothing suitable for painting or bring a painting apron.
