Participants will be painting a knock-out rose on watercolor paper with a drawing already applied. They will learn to identify shadow areas, apply background tinting, color mixing techniques, brush handling and the use of negative space.

• Location: Broadway Center Room 50 (Class Room) - 204 North Broadway;

• Date/Time: July 20th from 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM

• Break: 12:30 PM - 2:00 PM (1.5 hours)

• Total Hours: 7 hours

• Age: 16 & Up (Youth 16 - 18 MUST bring a Youth Authorization Form, completed and signed by a parent or legal guardian, found at this Attendees Resources link.)

• Difficulty: Beginner

• Class Size: 10 Max

• Take Home: One completed 10” x 13” watercolor painting on 140# paper, one 11” x 14” pre-cut mat and mounting board, a bound copy of watercolor painting techniques with information on paper choices, brushes and color mixing charts as well as catalogs and websites for ordering painting supplies.

• Notes: Please bring an apron or an old shirt to protect clothing.
