Workshop Instructor: Maria Tinnell

This class is an introduction/beginner class in coiled basketry. Participants will have hands on experience learning how to start a coiled basket, add or change colors, shape their basket, create a pattern, and finish the top edge. I am offering two choices of design. One is more traditional zig zag pattern and the other is a more contemporary floral design. You will be able to customize either design with colors of your choice. Materials include linen thread, nylon cord and tapestry needles. Students must bring small sharp scissors. Additional materials will be available for purchase after the class if you wish to make other baskets. Participants must have use of two hands and be able to stitch with a small tapestry needle.
