While taking the Step Basket class students will learn how to weave a step basket that will fit nicely on a stair step or perhaps a fireplace hearth. The dimensions of this basket will be approximately 8” x 8” base, and is 15’’ high. It will fit a step that is 7 1/2” high and 8” or more deep. The students will also have a choice of accent colors to weave into their basket.

• Date/Time: July 26th from 9:30 AM - 5:00 PM

• Break: 12:30 PM - 2:00 PM (1.5 hours)

• Total Hours: 6 hours

• Price: $86.00 (Includes all materials.) (See Notes below - Participants should bring a water bucket, towel and other items if possible as listed in the Notes below.)

• Age: 12 & Up (Youth 12 - 18 MUST bring a Youth Authorization Form, completed and signed by a parent or legal guardian, found at this Attendees Resources link.)

• Difficulty: Beginner (This basket can be completed by a beginner, but previous experience would be helpful.)

• Class Size: 12 Max

• Take Home: A completed woven step basket with a handle measuring approximately 8” x 8” x 15” high.

• Notes: Students should wear casual clothes that are comfortable, and might want to bring an apron to protect clothes from dye that could rub off from the reed to their clothes.

Standard basket-making tools are recommended: water bucket, towel, sharp scissors, bent nose needle nose pliers, small spring clamps (or spring clothes pins), tape measure and a pencil. Instructor will have some of these items available for use and will also have some tools that can be purchased.
