​Participants will experience drawing and painting layout processes on canvas, color mixing, brush handling, and multiple painting techniques using acrylics. The goal is to paint a landscape using supplied photographic references, promote personal artistic development, encourage creative solutions, and provide a basis for introducing others to the art of painting. Participants will complete their acrylic landscape painting to take home in six hours!

• Location: Broadway Center Room 70 (Conference Room) - 204 North Broadway

• Date/Time: July 27th from 9:30 AM - 5:00 PM

• Break: 12:30 PM - 2:00 PM (1.5 hours)

• Total Hours: 6 hours

• Price: $144.00 (Includes use of tools and all materials.) (See Notes below - Bring a water spray bottle and a hand-held hair dryer; may bring your own landscape photo.)

• Age: 8 & Up (Participants under 10 MUST be accompanied by one parent, legal guardian or authorized adult through the duration of the workshop. If the parent, legal guardian or authorized adult wishes to participate, they must also register for the workshop. All participants under 18 MUST bring a Youth Authorization Form, completed and signed by a parent or legal guardian, found at this Attendees Resources link.)

• Difficulty: All levels

• Class Size: 10 Max

• Take Home: One completed acrylic full-color landscape painting on a pre-stretched 12” x 12” cotton canvas.

• Notes: Please wear clothes that you don’t mind getting paint on or bring an apron. Participants should bring a water spray bottle and a hand-held hair dryer, to alternatively moisten and quick-dry parts of painting in progress. Though a number of pictorial references will be available, your own landscape photos or digital images can be substituted.

• NOTE TO EDUCATORS: Educators attending this session will receive access to on-line cross-curricular resources, suggested classroom activities based on skills and concepts covered in session, and a certificate of participation for Professional Learning documentation.
