Students taking Clara’s Bread Basket class will learn how to weave a basket using a wooden base and will also learn how to finish the basket with a lovely braided rim. Students will have a variety of colors of dyed reed to use on the rim. Basket is woven on a 6” wooden base. Top opening is approximately 11” and basket height is 3 1/2”.

• Date/Time: July 25th from 9:30 AM - 5:00 PM

• Break: 12:30 PM - 2:00 PM (1.5 hours)

• Total Hours: 6 hours

• Price: $52.00 (Includes all materials.) (See Notes below - Participants should bring a water bucket, towel and other items if possible as listed in the Notes below.)

• Age: 12 & Up (Youth 12 - 18 MUST bring a Youth Authorization Form, completed and signed by a parent or legal guardian, found at this Attendees Resources link.)

• Difficulty: Beginner (This basket can be completed by a beginner, but previous experience would be helpful.)

• Class Size: 12 Max

• Take Home: A completed woven basket on a 6” wooden base and finished with a beautiful braided rim. Top opening is approximately 11” and basket height is 3 1/2”.

• Notes: Students should wear casual clothes that are comfortable, and might want to bring an apron to protect clothes from dye that could rub off from the reed to their clothes.

Standard basket-making tools are recommended: water bucket, towel, sharp scissors, bent nose needle nose pliers and small spring clamps (or spring clothes pins). Instructor will have some of these items available for use and will also have some tools that can be purchased.
