Jeri Katherine Howell

Jeri Katherine Howell is an Americana singer/songwriter and rhythm guitarist with a sweet and soulful voice, thought-provoking lyrics, quality musicianship and joyful presence. Howell has been writing and performing as a solo artist, and collaborating with Kentucky musicians like Carla Gover, Ben Sollee and Stirfry Musette, for over 14 years. Howell has performed across the U.S. and in Japan, Mexico and Costa Rica as a Fulbright grantee with the U.S. Department of State.

Since 2010, Howell has taught songwriting for community groups, after school programs, university students and elementary and high schools. In 2018, she was selected to participate in the Kentucky Arts Council Performing Artists Directory in recognition of artistic excellence, and was awarded the Kentucky Foundation for Women Firestarter Award for her songwriting and teaching artist projects that foster social change. As a teaching artist, Howell also draws from her undergraduate B.A. in Spanish and Environmental Studies, as well as certifications in environmental education and teaching English as a Foreign Language.

As the Program Director at Josephine Sculpture Park, Howell works to connect people to each other and the land through the arts.
