The show mixes Appalachian\, Andean\, and Mexican music\, dance\, and stories. Audiences will see and hear instruments such as the banjo\, Appalachian Dulcimer\, guitar\, charango\, zampoñas and quenas (Andean flutes)\, various drums\, and rhythms made by dancing feet. They’ll hear (and maybe sing along with) traditional songs of Mexico\, Kentucky\, and Ecuador\, sung in English and Spanish. They will see and compare flatfoot dancing from Appalachia and several styles of colorful Ballet Folklórico from Mexico.\nFREE admission at the BAC thanks to funding from our partners at the National Endowment of the Arts.

DESCRIPTION:The Berea College planetarium hosts shows twice a week in our large planetarium. The shows are open to the public and held every Friday at 7PM and Sunday at 4PM. Tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for children and seniors. You can check out https://planetarium.berea.edu to view the available shows and descriptions. \nLocated in the Margaret A. Cargill (MAC) Natural Sciences and Health Building (34) on the 4th floor. Visitors can enter using the two doors located at the front of the building. Want to learn about the local wildlife?\nThen join at group hike at the Pinnacles in Berea!\n***\nEvery Saturday at 10:00am this summer\, FOC staff and Berea College students will be ready to hike with you! The group that attends will decide on the destination together. We can also split groups (if there is ample staffing) if there are different wants/needs of hike difficulty.\nPlease bring water and any medications you might need (i.e. inhaler).
