Many visitors who attend recall their own memories of riding on the train or of family members who worked on the railroad. For the youngest attendees\, it is a time to watch model trains in action\, take part in children’s activities and tour the L&N Depot.\nWhy did Berea decide to put on an event like this?\nThe 1917 L&N Depot in Berea\, now home to the Berea Tourism office\, is the last brick station still standing on the Cincinnati to Knoxville line. For over 100 years\, this building has been welcoming visitors to our community and 23 years ago we decided to celebrate this incredible fact.\nWhat can people expect at L&N Day?\nVisitors to L&N Day can expect to see railroad items ranging from lanterns to railroad signs\, model trains\, dishes from dining cars\, L&N Day T-shirts and much more. They can even talk to current and former railroad employees who attend every year. The most exciting part is to be standing on the back platform as a train goes by within feet of the vendors.
