Join us and the Art in Action team for Rat Appreciation Day on March 29th\, 2:00-4:00pm at the Hafer-Gibson building. This is a celebration for World Rat Day (April 4th) as well as to acknowledge and perhaps shift our perspective on critters that have a bad reputation. There’s something for all ages\, and the event is FREE.\nActivities include:\n-Rat themed crafts\n-Giant cardboard mazes\n-Scavenger hunt\n-Snake meet & greet\n-“Pest” control info\n-Rat themed trivia at 2:30pm\n-Short presentations on native rats and anthrozoology (the relationship between humans and animals)

Topics covered will include:\n– Checking and adding fluids\n– Proper ways to jack your vehicle\n– How to check your brakes and tires\n– Changing a tire\n– Standard oil and filter change* \nThis class will take place under our outdoor Pavilion so please dress for the weather and for the possibility of getting dirty/greasy if you want to be hands-on. \n*We will save the oil change for the very end of class for anyone that wants to stick around. \nClass is FREE\, but limited to 12 participants so please register. Recommended for 13 and older. If you have registered and can no longer attend\, PLEASE CANCEL your registration so that someone else may take your place. \nAbout Nathan:\nNathan is HomeGrown’s jack-of-all-trades. He takes care of all the repairs and maintenance of the cars\, trucks\, boat\, mower\, tractor\, and side-by-side plus most plumbing and electrical issues that inevitably occur on a working farm. He’s also our in-house Captain for our pontoon charters on the Kentucky River and is the FatherClucker to all our farm birds.

Find the answers as we venture into the seething interior of our star.\nSolar Superstorms takes viewers into the tangle of magnetic fields and superhot plasma that vent the Sun’s rage in dramatic flares\, violent solar tornadoes\, and the largest eruptions in the Solar System: coronal mass ejections.\n\nLocated in the Margaret A. Cargill (MAC) Natural Sciences and Health Building (34) on the 4th floor. Visitors can enter using the two doors located at the front of the building. Parking and location information is provided by the interactive campus maps.
