DESCRIPTION:Join us for a tour of the facilities at HomeGrown HideAways\, learn about FreeSkool\, & how YOU can participate as an instructor or attendee! \n\n\n\n\nHappy New Year\, Friends! \nWe’re pulling together an info session for folks that have expressed interest in FreeSkool and especially for those that might be interested in TEACHING a class. \nThis event will give folks the opportunity to learn what resources are available at HomeGrown HideAways to use for teaching a class and hopefully inspire ideas for the upcoming year. \nFor the new folx\, classes will generally be held on the second and last Sunday of each month and should focus on survival-based skill-sharing. This can include topics such as gardening\, food preservation\, first-aid\, auto mechanics\, home repairs and maintenance\, foraging\, small game processing\, sewing\, construction\, etc. Classes will mostly be geared towards teens and adults\, but there may be additional opportunities for children’s activities. \nFor this event\, attendees will be getting a tour of our facilities\, including the kitchens and indoor classroom\, plus the outdoor areas like the Pavilion\, gardens\, orchard\, and hiking trails so bring your ideas and your hiking shoes and let’s see what we can create together!

DESCRIPTION:Let’s get together and prepare for garden season! \n\n\n\n\nFood is one of the essential ingredients for survival so it’s fitting that our first\, official FreeSkool “class” will be a simple networking opportunity to chat about garden plans\, growing techniques\, successes\, and failures. \nBring along your favorite seed catalogs\, extra seeds and gardening supplies\, and any questions or ideas you want to share with the group. If folks want to collaborate on seed orders\, this can be a fun way to meet new friends and maybe lay the groundwork for future garden parties and work-trade opportunities. Maybe you don’t have room for a garden\, but have free time to help someone else in exchange for food. If there’s an interest\, we may also have a side-quest adventure regarding barnyard birds. All interest and skill-levels are welcome. \nWe’ll plan to meet in the second floor multi-purpose room in the Community Farmhouse at HomeGrown HideAways. End time is approximate. Stay till we’re done or depart when you need. Feel free to bring drinks and snacks if you like and message with any questions!
